Kana
Kanas are Japanese characters used to represent a sound. Kanas are used jointly with Kanjis to write the japanese language.
There are 2 types of Kanas:
  • Hiragana is mostly used to indicate prefixes and grammatical word endings
  • Katakana is most commonly used to write words of foreign origin that do not have kanji representations
Hiragana and Katakana msut be learned before going on with the more difficult Kanjis.
